For me it started with the Rocketeer, but later there would be Jonny Quest, James Bond in Thunderball and many more. However it started for you, I’m sure we have in common a love of Jetpacks.
Who can’t help but desire the freedom and exhilaration of jetting off into the skies? Jetpack Joyride from Halfbrick Studios may not put the wind in your hair, but it’s the next best thing.
Halfbrick has it simple; the menu is clean, there’s only one button in gameplay, and the objective is clear. Steal a jetpack from a secret lab and attempt to breakout of the facility. But there’s real challenge, a lot of chuckles and some hardy laughs packed in as well.
Playing as Berry Steakfries you must fly through this sidescroller avoiding lasers and missiles, collecting coins, scaring scientists, and are occasionally aided with additional artillery. There’s a store to spend your coins in where you can get a items like jumpboots or fancy new duds (I prefer flying as a super saiyan myself) and thrown in are achievements and challenges if you go for that kind of thing.
Joyride is great on mobile and available on Android, iOS and Windows 8 Phone. If you want to take your escape seriously however, you could also pick it up in the Playstation Store. However you prefer to play give Joyride a shot and you’ll keep going back for more.
